CBS, the Mouthpiece of the Corrupt CCK & Shincheonji on a Dramatic Growth

CCK, Arbitrarily Labels Shincheonji Church of Jesus as ‘Heresy’

CBS, the Mouthpiece of the Corrupt CCK & Shincheonji on a Dramatic Growth

Alerted by the dramatic growth of Shincheonji Church of Jesus (also known as ‘Shincheonji’), Korean Christian churches are arbitrarily labeling Shincheonji as ‘heresy’ in order to stop their own congregation members from going to Shincheonji.

They are still spreading the falsely broadcasted content of MBC PD Note
MBC PD Note’s program regarding Shincheonji was clarified as false and biased by the prosecutors, police, and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism in Korea. Such clarification was also reported and published in the media   (Court’s Ruling: MBC to Air Correction and Rebuttal on False, Biased Reporting) as if it is the truth.

The CCK, treats anyone who does not belong to its own denomination as a ‘heretic.’ This is why the CCK is calling Shincheonji a heresy, for it does not belong to the CCK.

Through several letters and seminars, Shincheonji said, “If we, in Shincheonji have ever falsely testified the word of God, then point it out based on the Bible.” However, nothing was brought up by the CCK.

The CCK is using all kinds of cruel methods on the congregation members of the denomination which they arbitrarily labeled as a heresy to force them to believe in the CCK’s own doctrines.

The Republic of Korea guareentees the freedom of religion in its constitution, and naturally the citizens of  Republic of Korea have the right to choose the religion.

Shincheonji, Church of Jesus, the Temple of the Tabernacle of Testimony (Shincheonji Church), which bases its life of faith on the Word from the Holy Bible, is growing rapidly as the number of the church members are reaching 170,000. It is revealed that the Shincheonji Church is not affiliated with the corrupted Christian Council of Korea (CCK), but rather centers the life of faith on the Word.

However, CBS works to degrade the image of the Shincheonji Church by falsely broadcasting the illegal acts of Shincheonji Church and represents the opposing view of the Christian Council of Korea. Although the Shincheonji Church has been attempting to understand their acts with love, but ......

What spirit is with CBS who persecutes with false accusations?

CBS side ☞ CBS broadcasted lies that in Shincheonji it is taught that the leader is the second coming of Jesus, God, counselor, etc.

Shincheonji side ☞ Shincheonji has never taught the leader of Shincheonji to be the second coming of Jesus, God, counselor, etc.
The leader of Shincheonji is a pastor Jesus chose (refer to Rev 22:16) therefore, he cannot be Jesus. Those who persecute with lies need to think back to themselves of which spirit is with them!

Does CBS know the coercive conversion pastors are the evils in society for violating human rights through the coercive conversion education?

CBS side ☞ CBS broadcasted lies that Shincheonji is a problem in society (evil in society).

Shincheonji side ☞ Shincheonji is working to restore the faith according to the Bible and to fulfill God’s will on earth by doing the work of the light in the dark world. The conversion pastors are the ones who are causing problems in society by violating human rights through coercive conversion educations. Conversion pastors need to realize this and repent.

Does CBS know that all religious organizations have the right to evangelize?

CBS side ☞ CBS broadcasted unfairly and denounced Shincheonji’s evangelism to be selfish for wanting to raise results.

Shincheonji side ☞ Religions have the right to evangelize no matter what church it is. Existing churches view evangelism with value but it is unfair to say that when Shincheonji evangelizes to save lives it is considered “selfish” or as “deception.” The people of Shincheonji did not come by force or coercion but they came by their own will and judgment. Shincheonji is spreading the gospel with the heart of loving the souls and to complete God’s nation promised in the Bible (New Testament).

Does CBS know that the coercive conversion pastors are the reasons for destroying families?

CBS side | CBS broadcasted lies that Shincheonji as an antisocial group that destroyed homes and brain washed the congregation members.

Shincheonji side | Shincheonji did not destroy homes but instead the coercive conversion pastors who are "the Shincheonji profiteers", slaves to money did by raising the coercive conversion education fee and abusing the love in family of Shincheonji people. The pastors lied and provoked insecurities within families, which is the main cause for destroyed homes. Also, by forcing power in oppressive situations the pastors force groundless generalization and their own doctrines to a person, this is brainwashing.

Shincheonji is fulfilling peace through movements such as the alliance of religion, cessation of war and world peace. These movements and nation-love events were never done before. Therefore, Shincheonji is not an antisocial group but instead a pro-social organization.

CBS denounced Shincheonji as a bad group, is this not a distorted report?

CBS side ☞ CBS falsely reported that falling into Shincheonji is like falling into a pit.

Shincheonji side ☞ A pit is parabolized to explain the difficulty of coming out of unhappiness and troubles. Everybody has the freedom of religion. Congregation members entered Shincheonji by their own will.

Shincheonji is God’s nation created according to the promise of the New Testament therefore, entering Shincheonji (‘fell into’ is the wrong expression) cannot be the same as falling into a pit.

If one knows the Bible then, they cannot say this.

CBS denounced Shincheonji as a bad group therefore the reports are distorted.

Does CBS know that the coercive conversion pastors are the ones who separate the parents and child for their profit and cause conflicts in faith?

CBS side ☞ CBS broadcasted lies of Shincheonji being a severe group for causing a parent to commit suicide, a child to write a suicide note, aggravate leaving the house due to conflicts in belief?

Shincheonji side ☞ Shincheonji never aggravated a child to leave the house but instead prohibits leaving school, jobs, house and etc.
Shincheonji did not cause the conflict in faith but the coercive conversion pastors did by criticizing Shincheonji with distorted truths and by separating parents and children.

They are a severed group that causes conflicts in faith for their own profits (conversion education fees) by having parents misapprehend that if their child goes to Shincheonji something bad will happen.

Does CBS know that the confinement and assaults done during the coercive conversion education is illegal and violates the human rights?

CBS side ☞ CBS broadcasted lies that violence, confinement, brainwashing, and coercion happen in Shincheonji.

Shincheonji sideIn Shincheonji the freedom of belief is guaranteed, personal rights are respected, and God and Jesus’s love is practiced; therefore, it is impossible to have violence, confinement, brainwashing, and coercion. Also, brainwashing is changing the conscious a person once had in a different direction or altering a person’s mind to follow a specific ideology and thought. Shincheonji teaches with the Bible and there is no brainwashing done. On the contrary, coercive conversion pastors distort the truth, lie to Shincheonji congregation members, neglect the congregation members’ rights, defame them, forcefully practice the conversion education with their own standard (this is brainwashing), have the families violate individual rights by confining and assaulting instead to evade the law, and so on.

Does CBS know that the coercive conversion pastors are the ones
who aggravate and pressure people to divorce, leave home, school and work?

CBS side ☞ CBS broadcasted lies that Shincheonji provoke and pressure people to divorce, leave home, school and work.

Shincheonji side ☞ Believers of Shincheonji all manage their faith along with normal jobs, households, schools, and social lives. However, there may be congregation members who are personally passionate or have personal issues that lead to leaving jobs, households, school and etc. That is why each tribe made an official note on educating congregation members to not get a divorce, leave school or work and etc., because of their faith.

The coercive conversion pastors are rather those who stir conflicts within families with false statements and avert them from having a normal workplace, household, and school life.

The Severity of the Coercive Conversion Education

Shincheonji Rebuttal 2

Does CBS know the severity of the coercive conversion education?

The coercive conversion education is an illegal education that violates the law that assures the freedom of religion. Coercive conversion pastors aggravate troubles and conflicts in the family with distorted lies that eventually leads them to kidnap, confine, and use violence. Also, during this coercive education, families quit their job, school, and housework. Even after all this if the individual is not converted they are put into a mental institution.

Oh My God! CBS, a Christian Media Network

CBS, a Christian Media Network
 Inciting Kidnapping and Violence

Should the Leading Christian Media Network of Korea Continue with Falsified, Distorted, and Biased Reporting?

CBS, Holding Human Rights and Lives as Ransom for Monetary Profit

Starting March 16th, 2015, the self-claimed “leading Christian Media Network” of Korea, CBS, aired a documentary called, “People who have Fallen into Shincheonji.” However, this program was illegally filmed using hidden cameras without any consent of those who were filmed, with about 2,000 hours worth of footages of human rights violation. The program consisted of a biased reporting that vindicates illegal and coercive conversion sessions, and it aired slandering words of a few who are hostile to Shincheonji Church of Jesus, the Temple of the Tabernacle of the Testimony (Shincheonji), without any objective discussion.

This program was based only on increasing ratings, with a completely lost sense of journalistic ethics. On the other hand, the airing of this program proved itself to be motivated to introduce the so-called “cult counseling facility” to the public and raise sponsorship.

CBS had already been in a previous scandal for airing a certain pastor’s sermon in exchange of 8 million Korean Won in monthly payment, though the pastor was warned by the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church in Korea (GAPCK) in regards to the pastor’s heretical nature.

Does money ultimately determine how one is heretical or not?

On top of this, the CCK is using CBS’s falsifying reporting as a shield to hide the CCK’s own lies, though CBS’s reporting confused the people of Korea with its lies.

However, CBS’s false reporting has been purposely edited to slander Shincheonji in a biased way, and it publicly exposed the existence of coercive conversion sessions to the world that were only done privately.

Such airing is a gross violation of human rights, going against the Korean constitution and regulations that guarantee the citizens’ religious freedom, and it is also against journalistic integrity.

It is also absurd to publicly talk down on a specific denomination when the Republic of Korea does not have a national religion, just from the CCK’s arbitrary judgment to determine Shincheonji as heretical.

Such an act of condoning human rights violation should be investigated by the relevant government agencies!!

This is because the freedom of religion is guaranteed under the Constitution of the Republic of Korea, Article 20 Clause 1.

Comparison Theology of CCK and Shincheonji

Comparison the Theology
of the CCK and Shincheonji

Let us compare the theology of the Christian Counsel of Korea (CCK) and that of Shincheonji Mission Center and the level of knowledge of their congregation members.

The seminaries of the CCK do not have the holy Spirit or the Word, so the seminary students were unable to learn the Word. They have completed the seminary with a simple ordination and have been giving sermons to their congregation members, but neither pastors nor their congregation members have the Word in them.

Since pastors that belong to the Christian Council of Korea (CCK), seminary schools of the CCK, and/or denominations of the CCK serve as CBS’s board of directors, neither God nor His Word are with CBS. Instead, the words of the world overflow from there. The CCK distorts the Word of promise (prophecy) and teaches falsehood.

In this situation, what will the conclusion be for those who do evil by not believing in God and His words but insist on believing that their denomination and pastors are true?

As it is written (Mt 13), the Word is the seed, food, and spirit. God is truth, and the devil is [the father of] lies.
The pastors of the CCK, who receive tithes from their congregation members, and CBS, which receives a TV subscription fee from its viewers, should no longer continue their acts of planting the seed and spirit of the devil. It is said that those who are born of God’s seed become the sons of God and those who are born of the devil’s seed become the sons of the devil (Mt 13). Knowing this truth, are you still going to believe and take in the words of the CCK and CBS and ignore the Bible? Are you still going to condemn Shincheonji, which testifies about the Bible correctly and walks the life of faith according to the Bible, as a cult?

In the Old Testament, Jesus was prophesied as a promised pastor and he came in accordance with the promise (prophecy). Also in the New Testament, a promised pastor is prophesied and he came according to the prophecy. He is testifying to the fulfillment of what has been promised. Please point out if there is anything that does not correspond with the Bible.

Shincheonji Truth: Fulfillment of Revelation

<Truth of Shincheonji>
Spreading the Fulfillment of Revelation

The devil and his pastors speak lies (Jn 8:44),
and God and His pastors speak the truth (Jn 17:17).

God and Jesus came at the First Coming as promised in the Old Testament, spoke the truth, and fulfilled the promise.  At that time, the pastors of the temple of Jerusalem, the capital of Israel, lied and carried out evil deeds. Today, after about 2,000 years, God and Jesus came in a spiritual body, fulfilled the Book of Revelation, and they are in the final stage of their work.

The fact that Shincheoji is experiencing a dramatic increase through its proclamation of peace, just as Jesus proclaimed peace, shows a process of re-creation.

On the other hand, due to the rapid decrease of its members, the CCK is taking their anger out on the members of Shincheoji through coercive conversion education. Such actions will be considered unlawful for all eternity.

CBS and the CCK are currently slandering Shincheoji by making up false accusations. A generation ends because of corruption; this is why they need to repent and become reborn. They once determined a date on which the rapture will occur, and it became a huge issue in the whole country. Did the rapture take place? It was all a lie, and that is why those who made up such a lie are the false pastors. This is corruption.

God and Jesus are with us, Shincheoji, and we have a complete understanding of the Bible and revelation.
We of Shincheonji are also spreading the fulfillment of Revelation in the New Testament, and furthermore, growing rapidly because of it.

The pastors, elders, evangelists, and congregation members under the CCK are gathering to Shincheoji because God’s truth is with Shincheoji, unlike the CCK that became corrupt. This can be proven by having the most knowledgeable and skilled CCK member and a lay congregation member from Shincheoji take a test regarding the Bible and compare the results.

CBS, CCK, Come and See to Shincheonji

CBS, CCK,
Come and See

Verify and Believe

Shincheonji has mastered the Bible and Revelation. Come and see!

※ The government and religious organizations must abide by Article 20, Clauses 1 and 2 in the Constitution of the Republic of Korea.

The Article 20 in the Constitution of Republic of Korea
(1) All citizens shall enjoy freedom of religion.
(2) No state religion shall be recognized, and church and state shall be separated.

Jesus said that one who humbles oneself is the greater and higher one. However, the CCK bought and sold presidency with money for the sake of wealth, power, and fame. They also ordained pastors in exchange for money, regardless of whether they attended seminary or not, and allowed them to rule churches. Are these actions according to Jesus’ commandments or Satan's commandments? Is this the truth? Is this an orthodox belief? Is this heretical or orthodox? They must answer to this.

Jesus promised that he would put an end to traditional denominations at the Second Coming (Mt 24, Rev 6, Rev 21), create the 144,000 of the twelve tribes through harvesting and sealing, and create the multitude in white (Mt 13, Rev 14). At this time, those who are not harvested are the sons of devil, who are born of the seed of the devil (Mt 13:37-39). Are the twelve tribes of Shincheonji, who are harvested and sealed, true? Or are the people who are not harvested but remain in the field and persecute Shincheonji true? Answer.

Should CBS, which charges subscription fees to citizens for its falsifying reports, and the CCK, which spreads lies, be left alone to continue to give their false testimonies? Or should they be shut down? Answer.

The lying CCK and the falsifying religious media CBS, which charge people for subscription fees for its lies, must be shut down. The lying pastors who belong to the CCK, who author and sell books of lies and teach lies (false teachings) while taking tithes from the congregation, must meet their ends as disqualified pastors.

How would it be possible that an ignorant person can teach someone else? Feeding lies to the people is an act that leads one to hell, by sowing the seed of the devil in the hearts of the people. Thus, the CCK and its pastors, as well as CBS, must come to an end.

Shincheonji has mastered the Bible and the Book of Revelation. Come and see!

Jesus will return according to his promise. At the time of the Second Coming, everything is fulfilled according to the promises of the New Testament (Rv 21:6). Now is the time of the Second Coming. Shincheonji Church of Jesus proclaims this to the whole world. Anyone who hears and believes this must also have their faith based on the words of promise in the New Testament. Shincheonji is spreading the fulfillment of Revelation to the churches just as Jesus Christ promised through Apostle John (Rv 22:16). A believer would verify, believe, and hope to enter into salvation. Shincheonji proclaims the Revelation, the revealed faith, and the reality of the fulfillment. Come and see!  This is the truth.

In the Name of Religion

On the 8th of April, the Coercive Conversion Education Victims Association and New Heaven and Earth (Shincheonji) held a press conference to denounce CBS false and distorted broadcasting at the Gwanghwamun Sejong Art Center in Seoul.

Sixty-six media organizations, including newspapers, attended the conference and ninety-nine articles were published. All the reports cover CBS’s false and distorted broadcasting.

CBS unilaterally aired things that are not true as if they are true to make money with coercive conversion education pastors without the confirmation of Shincheonji Church of Jesus (hereinafter Shincheonji) and the Coercive Conversion Education Victims Association. Because of this, this reputation of Shincheonji and the Association has been defamed. How can we call this CBS a religious broadcasting company?

Why Cult Researchers, in Attacking Shincheonji?

Why Cult Researchers,
in Attacking Shincheonji?

Why Do Only Certain “Cult Researchers”
Constantly Appear in Attacking Shincheonji?

Major Christian media Relying Solely on Hyun Wook Shin
and Yong Shik Jin, Failing to Diversify Reporters

Defining a group as either a heretic or not has been dependent on media portrayal
and a denomination’s claims, more so than on a fixed standard, such as the Bible.

Many are curious as to why major Christian media outlets such as Kukmin Ilbo and CBS No-Cut News are overly relying on two “cult researchers” and their assertions against the new religious denomination, Shincheonji Church of Jesus, the Temple of the Tabernacle of the Testimony, “Shincheonji”.

Both Kukmin Ilbo and CBS have been heavily basing their critical reports against Shincheonji on claims made by, Hyun Wook Shin, the Head Counselor of Korean Christian Cult Counseling Center in Guri, and Yong Shik Jin, the chairperson of Korean Christian Cult Counseling Committee. Especially in Kukmin Ilbo, interviews with Mr. Shin and Mr. Jin appeared in every critical report against Shincheonji that was published in the past several months, attracting the public’s attention.

One justification may be that both men are knowledgeable of Shincheonji, but many are becoming wary of the one-sided assertions of few individuals who oppose that very denomination that they are reporting on through major Christian media outlets.

The 13th Christian Media Forum held last March noted that “the debates on the heretical Korean churches focus on irrelevant topics that do not touch upon the essence of Christianity, further causing divisions and confusions within the church.

The so-called cult researchers’ arbitrary methods of determining a heresy are responsible for the majority of this confusion.” In regards to Yong Shik Jin and Hyun Wook Shin, a former member of Shincheonji, the forum claimed that “many of the self-proclaimed cult researchers are attacking their former denominations, acting as experts in the matters of determining heresies.”

In addition to such charges, it was also revealed that Mr. Shin and Mr. Jin failed to respond to the summons of the Committee on Countermeasures of Cults of the Christian Council of Korea (CCK), which had previously determined Mr. Shin and Mr. Jin were heretics. The committee also concluded Mr. Shin and Mr. Jin had started many conflicts and disagreements in the Christian community.

Moreover, Kukmin Ilbo and CBS have been protective of Mr. Shin and Mr. Jin since the CCK has been making charges against them. In the past, the two media companies have been supportive of the CCK’s dealings on heretical matters, until the CCK began to make charges against Mr. Shin and Mr. Jin. The two media companies are now criticizing the CCK instead.

Defining a group as either a heretic or not has been dependent on media portrayal and a denomination’s claims, more so than on a fixed standard, such as the Bible.

Many are also skeptical of Mr. Shin and Mr. Jin’s past, raising doubts on the accuracy of the reports from the major Christian media outlets. While serving as a high-level official in Shincheonji, Hyun Wook Shin once claimed that one must “eat the flesh and blood of Chairman of Shincheonji instead of the flesh and blood of Jesus” to be saved, a statement that led him to be expelled from the denomination. Depositing the church offering into his personal bank account and spending for own gain was another factor that led to his expulsion.

The Supreme Court found Yong Shik Jin guilty for abetting coercive kidnappings while conducting coercive conversion education in 2008. The Supreme Court also acknowledged that Mr. Jin received monetary funds for the coercive conversion sessions from the victims’ families. An investigation of his bank account revealed that Mr. Jin amassed over a billion Korean Won through various conversion education business, heightening public awareness of the conversion education’s motives for business and profit.

In the  midst of such reality, the public skepticism are growing against the major Christian media outlets, such as Kukmin Ilbo and CBS, for solely relying on Mr. Jin and Mr. Shin’s claims as their only source. Their consistent and repeated use of the same source are raising many questions of the neutrality and fairness of their reports, and whether they are protecting the benefit of  other established churches that are attempting to thwart the rapid growth of Shincheonji.
