Survey shows rapid increase of positive feelings towards the church, and expectation on the volunteers is higher than ever  
 
 "After seeing it myself, Shincheonji church is nothing like what I had heard from people."

 According to a survey conducted by the Shincheonji officials, it turned out that local residents that had negative feelings towards the Shincheonji church have drastically changed.

 A doors open event was organized by the Shincheonji church to communicate openly with the people and to think about the region's development together. The event was conducted all through the twelve tribes of the church since the last July, and total of hundred people had participated in the survey regarding the visit. According to the survey, it turned out that local residents that had negative feelings towards the Shincheonji church have changed drastically.

 Before the open doors event, the survey shows only 47 percent of the respondents had positive feelings towards the church, 34 percent answered they were neutral, and 19 percent answered they had negative feelings towards the church.

 When the respondents were asked if they would revisit the church in the future,  73 percent of the locals answered they would, 24 percent remained 'neutral', and merely three percent answered 'they would not'. The result of the survey clearly shows the local residents' willingness to take part in the future events held by the church.

The respondents were also asked in which field of service the region they most require by the Shincheonji volunteers, 30 percent answered 'helping out the people in need', 23 percent 'providing cultural spaces', 15 percent 'beautification of the region', 13 percent 'medical services', and lastly 11 percent 'cleaning the environment'.

They were also questioned what kind of activities that the church could do to benefit the region, the requirement for regional communication spaces marked 35 percent which was the highest, unique volunteering works marked 33 percent, participating in artistic performances 25 percent, volunteer crime-prevention 6 percent, and other requirements marked 1 percent. Through the research, it became clear that local residents wanted the Shincheonji church to take charge of the regional communication field, and the need for unique volunteering suitable for the region and artistic performances is high. 

The participants remarked the visit by saying"I can see that the number of the believers coming to the church is growing rapidly, and they all have a bright smile on their faces. I was able to learn that the Shincheonji church have been volunteering widely in all kinds of fields for a long time. I will actively participate in the church's future events in developing the region".

As the largest volunteer organization in the world, we in Shincheonji have always done the work of volunteerism. Our headquarters in South Korea and our many international branches are actively volunteering around the world. This is volunteerism in its most eternal and unchanging form.

From whom did we in Shincheonji learn this work of volunteerism? We learned it through the Bible, from Jesus, who was from Nazareth (commoner’s village), and his disciples. They volunteered 2,000 years ago by sacrificing their lives for the sake of all mankind. They did not work for power, money, honor, or their personal ambition. They were the light of the world. They passed away, offering all they had in order to shine the light to a world of darkness.

As light met another light and we in Shincheonji all joined hands, a sprout emerged. This sprout became a large tree laden with fruit. The world now flourishes and produces this fruit of light every month and every year in abundance. This is the volunteer work of the eternal inheritance of light.

People offered words of encouragement.  

 

Prepared the neat wall, we started to draw and paint in earnest. 

Volunteers drew a pencil line resolutely in the warm fall sunlight.

We made a rough sketch and filled a space with crunching sound.

We wondered how rebirth the wall when drawing began to take shape.

Most of mountain climber who passed by street corner sent a message of support with lifting thumb.

"You've been working hard, you did good things."

People offered words of encouragement.

What a praise had whale dance, volunteers received power and worked hard in heart an soul.   
 
People said, "this restaurant owner blessed." and gave praise to him.

The mountain climbers who a penetarating gaze and it stopped participated in our activity.


Moreover, the restaurant staff also helped our work with rolling up their sleeves.  
One of the mountain climber said, "I usually passed by this way, the dark wall vanished into thin air.


So I felt I came to somewhere else because beautiful picture unfolded before my eyes." and he was struck with admiration.


The other mountain climber said, "I can't believe how don't receive money and do it, how come?" and he surprised.  
We were very tired because of lifting some heavy luggage and picture material but we felt that refreshed from fatigue.

Because many mountain climber praised us and they said, "get better the wall day by day".

We felt a sense of satisfaction for casting light in people's mind by drawing.

Other people bought fruit for us and gave snack to us with watching our activity.

The bashful sunflowers and the many color of the butterfly appeared on the wall painting.


The view of the wall painting which is the fruit of the voluntary's work was touching more than the accomplishment which is looking down the top of a mountain.
We hope that the mountain climbers who climb a mountain behind repeating everyday life take a break in front of the wall painting for a while and feel at ease with forgetting their cares and worries by the wonderful nature.   

We have been started free gymnastics and the wall painting voluntary service, we planned variety voluntary service for becoming a model for society.

Today, we tell you the wall painting voluntary service about Shincheonji Andrew Ulsan Church who give a boost to the trail wall what passed by inadvertently.


Then one day, we thought a restaurant wall that be located near gymnastics place looks empty and suggest a restaurant ower about painting the wall, he allowed without hesitation.

Start with the cleaning around the trail, we progress painting wall voluntary service.

Then, we became familiar with the restaurant ower. 

We started sketching like spreading a drawing paper before painting. Like "Many hands make light work", we didn't unaware of the passage of time and we didn't find working hard at all because we worked together.

We were happy with talking about this and that during the painting wall.  

We concentrated on painting wall like doing a cross-stitch and It made us mind alert.

We used not to be good at drawing but we grasp a paint brush and we believe that we delight many people by the completed paint wall.

Let's draw it mightily with expectations. 

We cleaned up the wall using white paints and we hoped to take a load off my mind. We hope to build good thing in our mind. Prepared the neat wall, we started to draw and paint in earnest.

Even though other religions or other people have a prejudiced opinion about them, they sill come and work with smiling faces and do their best, and I think that is very fortunate.

Sometimes I wonder why they have to hear bad rumors.

But because of the kind and gentle volunteer director, who works hard with a bright smile, we have nothing else to ask for.

I just hope that they can continue to work zealously in good health.

In the past year, I worked at the Shincheonji church in Gunsan as a volunteer, helping with distributing free meals at the soup kitchen.
I am thankful that we can proclaim the kingdom of God by volunteering and that we are able to work with a healthy body.

The interviewee, Soon Young Seon, shared about the love of beautiful church volunteers of Shincheonji.

• Please introduce yourself

I am Soon Young Sean, a soup kitchen dietitian operation in the Gunsan area where I have received a commission from Gundan Won Buddhism.

• Is there a reason why you think that the Shincheonji church volunteers are special?

There are about 70 volunteering organizations taking turns serving.
Among them, the Shincheonji church's turn is the first Sunday of every month.

During situations when other volunteer organizations cannot work during their turn, Shincheonji church is the first one we send an SOS to for help.

They work invisibly, and they do a very good job so I'm always thankful for their efforts. They complete their entrusted work perfectly without being told.

They illustrate being a "volunteer organization that is above the rest".

When we hear about the church of Shincheonji, as many already know, it is slightly different than the other churches.

At first, I had a prejudice about the church, but as I continued to work and watch them volunteer for ever a year, my opinion changed to 'Oh, Shincheonji church is really reliable and good religion.'

They come and help whenever I request for help, and they are people that I am grateful towards.

Shincheonji Gunsan church  volunteers had volunteered at Gunsan restaurant for old people on November 1st.

 

 Foreign Students in Korea participated that day.
The fact attracted the gaze of people.

 

That day, Gunsan church volunteers 15people that including Foreign Students in Korea 8people had prepared lunch for about 400 people, distributed food  and arranged.

 

One of old people who saw their volunteer work said " when I meet.

Foreign Students, they spoke Korean well and I was happy to talk with them. I got a foreigner friend" and  he smiled a bright smile.

 Mr. Dan(29) who is from Vietnam said
"I won't ever forget this new experience. I want participate volunteer work again, if there is more chance after come back my hometown."

 

Shincheonji volunteers do many activities  at all over the country.

They do the campaign for vitalization of traditional markets, sharing campaign for Chuseok, Korea thanks giving day, drawing on the wall, sharing gimjang , kimchi-making for the winter and  blood donation.

 

Volunteering of Shincheonji gives Shincheonji Church pride and joy for making a better peace reign place to live in.

SMC Ansan-Multicultural Center belong to Shincheonji Ansan-zion church had a event 'A free physical check-up, visiting healthy doctor' for USFK in Gojangdong on 8day.

This year, the 100 people of foreigner from Suwon, Anyang of course Ansan participated in this second healthy doctor event.

Beauty, translation, spine correction, graphic psychological counselling is, of course, External invitation 50people like herbal doctor, physician and nurse participated this free physical check-up event.

This event have psychological counselling ,beauty service, offering snacks and recreation with free physical check-up.

Shincheonji voluntary Group is sharing love for everyone in the world to be happy.

Shincheonji Church of Jesus, the Temple of the Tabernacle of the Testimony, Andrew Church volunteers held an event which is a ‘Love country share peace’-themed to wish for peace for South Korea's 70th anniversary of Liberation Day at Daecheon Park in Haeundae on Sept 22. 

This event caught people’s eyes because it held to wish for peace despite tensions between the North and the South steaming at its peak, because of North Korea’s provocative actions including the shelling to the western front.

Event of ‘Love country share peace’ hosted by Andrew church volunteer held to the effect that end of war caused by the religious disputes and bring peace for leaving peace world to future generations. About 450 people who are 5 North Korean Provinces, 6.25war veteran, Foreign Students in Korea, religious leader, busan citizen and so on, especially participated in this event and they ruminate about meaning of peace.  

In the event hall, participations did variety of activity for experience for example, made the pinwheels with Korean national flags, face painting and calligraphy etc. They examine into peace character who lead for peace and  publicize wounds of war through a peace security photo exhibition at home and abroad.

University students, Im Hyun Jin said, “the current situation is anxious because of talking about war. So I fully realized to need peace out of war. I heard 6.25war veteran’s a heartbreaking story. This event remind the horrors of war to us.”

Jang Mi rang who visited the event booth with baby said, “today weather is good so I visited a park with my family and I saw awesome performance, have face painted, took a family picture with symbolizing peace that is great.

It makes me interesting about peace more and more.”   

Meanwhile, shincheonji volunteers don’t distinguish nation, religion, race and idea and have been visited people( senior citizen who lives alone, a neglected class of people, traditional market, war veterans, Foreign Students in Korea, nation disaster rehabilitation support as a nation) who need to help. Shincheonji volunteers actively have done voluntary service that helping a community during 30years.

This event is held exhibition as means of pain at the time of June 25th incident of Korea and remind mean of unification.
 
There were many performance for celebrate to the 70th Liberation Anniversary Drum, korea dance performance and gayageum Byeongchang, children cheer, youth dance.

And booths were operating making rose of Sharon and Taegeukgi, Korean flag pinwheel, fan, Teageukgi with thumbprint, ect.

At this event, about 1200 people(the association East Sea area ) have participated and have being reminded the meaning of liberation.

The president of Donghae (East sea) mr. Shin do gyun, Korea Wounded Soldiers and Policemen Association and chief of SungWonSa korean buddhist Jogye Order delivered  a congratulatory speech.

and they prepare the time to look at the spirit and representative people of many fighter for independence in Japanese government.
