Sermon on the Mount by Jesus

 Jesus taught them
<Sermon on the Mount>

  • Matthew 6:19~34

Lay Up Treasures in Heaven (Trasures in Heaven)

19. “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal.

20. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal.

21. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

The Lamp of the Body

22. “The eye is the lamp of the body. If your eyes are healthy, your whole body will be full of light.

23. But if your eyes are unhealthy,  your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light within you is darkness, how great is that darkness!

You Cannot Serve God and Riches

24. “No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.

Fasting in the Bible

<True Fasting in the bible>
Fasting to be seen
only by God

Matthew 6:16~18

  • Fasting

Fasting, how? how do we fast?

16. “When you fast, do not look somber as the hypocrites do, for they disfigure their faces to show others they are fasting. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full.

17. But when you fast, put oil on your head and wash your face,

18. so that it will not be obvious to others that you are fasting, but only to your Father, who is unseen; and your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.

Isaiah 58:1~12

  • Fasting that pleases God

1. “Shout it aloud, do not hold back. Raise your voice like a trumpet. Declare to my people their rebellion and to the descendants of Jacob their sins.

2. For day after day they seek me out; they seem eager to know my ways, as if they were a nation that does what is right and has not forsaken the commands of its God. They ask me for just decisions and seem eager for God to come near them.

3. ‘Why have we fasted,’ they say, ‘and you have not seen it? Why have we humbled ourselves, and you have not noticed?’ “Yet on the day of your fasting, you do as you please and exploit all your workers.

4. Your fasting ends in quarreling and strife, and in striking each other with wicked fists. You cannot fast as you do today and expect your voice to be heard on high.

5. Is this the kind of fast I have chosen, only a day for people to humble themselves? Is it only for bowing one’s head like a reed and for lying in sackcloth and ashes? Is that what you call a fast, a day acceptable to the Lord ?

6. “Is not this the kind of fasting I have chosen: to loose the chains of injustice and untie the cords of the yoke, to set the oppressed free and break every yoke?

7. Is it not to share your food with the hungry and to provide the poor wanderer with shelter— when you see the naked, to clothe them, and not to turn away from your own flesh and blood?

8. Then your light will break forth like the dawn, and your healing will quickly appear; then your righteousness will go before you, and the glory of the Lord will be your rear guard.

9. Then you will call, and the Lord will answer; you will cry for help, and he will say: Here am I. “If you do away with the yoke of oppression, with the pointing finger and malicious talk,

10. and if you spend yourselves in behalf of the hungry and satisfy the needs of the oppressed, then your light will rise in the darkness, and your night will become like the noonday.

11. The Lord will guide you always; he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame. You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail.

12. Your people will rebuild the ancient ruins and will raise up the age-old foundations; you will be called Repairer of Broken Walls, Restorer of Streets with Dwellings.

The Prayer Jesus Taught

The Prayer Jesus Taught

-The Model prayer-

The Lord's Prayer

Jesus taught his disciples what to pray for and where to pray, when he saw hypocritical people during his first coming. Jesus told his disciples not to babble like the hypocrites because the Father God already knew what they would need even before asking. The prayer Jesus taught them at that time was the Lord’s Prayer. The saints of God, therefore, need to pray to the Father with the content of the prayer the Lord Jesus taught to them.

  • Main reference: Matthew 6:5~15

5. “And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full.

6. But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.

7. And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words.

8. Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.

9. “This, then, is how you should pray:  “
‘Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name,

10. your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.

11. Give us today our daily bread.

12. And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.

13. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. ’

14. For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.

15. But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.

Giving to the Needy

When you giving
To the Needy?

Let's do good to please God

1. “Be careful not to practice your righteousness in front of others to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven.

2. “So when you give to the needy, do not announce it with trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honored by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full.

3. But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing,

4. so that your giving may be in secret. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.

The Sermon of Jesus on the Mount [Matthew 5]

The Sermon
Of Jesus
On the Mount
[Matthew 5]

Mathew 5:13~48

  • Believers are salt and light
13 “You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot.

14 “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden.

15 Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house.

16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.

  • Jesus Christ fulfills the law
17 “Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them.

18 For truly I tell you, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished.

19 Therefore anyone who sets aside one of the least of these commands and teaches others accordingly will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and teaches these commands will be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

20 For I tell you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the Pharisees and the teachers of the law, you will certainly not enter the kingdom of heaven.

  • Murder begins in the heart
21 “You have heard that it was said to the people long ago, ‘You shall not murder, and anyone who murders will be subject to judgment.’

22 But I tell you that anyone who is angry with a brother or sister    will be subject to judgment. Again, anyone who says to a brother or sister, ‘ Raca ,’  is answerable to the court. And anyone who says, ‘You fool!’ will be in danger of the fire of hell.

23 “Therefore, if you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother or sister has something against you,

24 leave your gift there in front of the altar. First go and be reconciled to them; then come and offer your gift.

25 “Settle matters quickly with your adversary who is taking you to court. Do it while you are still together on the way, or your adversary may hand you over to the judge, and the judge may hand you over to the officer, and you may be thrown into prison.

26 Truly I tell you, you will not get out until you have paid the last penny.

  • Adultery in the heart
27 “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall not commit adultery.’

28 But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart.

29 If your right eye causes you to stumble, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into hell.

30 And if your right hand causes you to stumble, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to go into hell.

  • Divorce and adultery
31 “It has been said, ‘Anyone who divorces his wife must give her a certificate of divorce.’

32 But I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, makes her the victim of adultery, and anyone who marries a divorced woman commits adultery.

33 “Again, you have heard that it was said to the people long ago, ‘Do not break your oath, but fulfill to the Lord the vows you have made.’

34 But I tell you, do not swear an oath at all: either by heaven, for it is God’s throne;

35 or by the earth, for it is his footstool; or by Jerusalem, for it is the city of the Great King.

36 And do not swear by your head, for you cannot make even one hair white or black.

37 All you need to say is simply ‘Yes’ or ‘No’; anything beyond this comes from the evil one.

  • Love for eye, love for tooth, love for hand, love for foot
38 “You have heard that it was said, ‘Eye for eye, and tooth for tooth.’

39 But I tell you, do not resist an evil person. If anyone slaps you on the right cheek, turn to them the other cheek also.

40 And if anyone wants to sue you and take your shirt, hand over your coat as well.

41 If anyone forces you to go one mile, go with them two miles.

42 Give to the one who asks you, and do not turn away from the one who wants to borrow from you.

  • Love for enemies and be perfect
43  “You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’

44 But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you,

45 that you may be children of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.

46 If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that?

47 And if you greet only your own people, what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans do that?

48 Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.

Praying of Promised Pastor

Praying
of Promised Pastor
of Shincheonji

The New Testament has been fulfilled, it is the time for them to believe in it!

▲ An easy Shincheonji animation, What God promised in the New Testament video

<God, Jesus and heaven of Revelation 2, 3 come upon the one who overcoems>
Everyone, Revelation of the New Testament has been fulfilled. The events of Revelation started
in a small place on earth just like the First coming

Not only has the promised pastor at the Lord’s second coming mastered the Bible, but he also knows its purpose and the fulfillment of all the chapters of the New Testament. At a time like this, there are people who will attain salvation and people who will not.

Those who will attain salvation will be able to receive salvation not just through any churches or pastors in this world, but only through one person, the promised pastor. This has been the same in each and every generation. The promised pastors have existed in each era, and people have gained salvation only through those pastors in the bible.

How can one recognize who the promised pastor is? One can recognize it by the work he is carrying out and by the fulfilled work. In other words, one can recognize the promised pastor by examining if he fights against and overcomes the designated people(the Nicolaitans) in the Revelation and carries out the work of harvesting, sealing, and creating of the twelve tribes.

The saints in the era of the New Testament have been anticipating the fulfillment of God’s promises in the New Testament (the work of salvation and the appearing of the savior). Since the New Testament has been fulfilled, it is the time for them to believe in it.

Whoever refuses to believe in the words of the new covenant, which was promised through the blood,
and whoever refuses to believe in the physical fulfillment of the New Testament despite it being made known to them, will be unable to blame others even if they receive the condemnation of hell.

Promised Postor and we in Shincheonji who are aware of this consequence are wholeheartedly praying for the salvation of all people.

[Shincheonji Animation] As the Promised Pastor Appears

<As the Promised Pastor Appears ...>

[Shincheonji Animation] As the Promised Pastor Appears is contunued "An Easy Shincheonji Animation", http://shincheonjiaroma.blogspot.kr/2015/10/an-easy-shincheonji-animation.html

Q. Where are Satan’s Nicolaitans, whom he must fight?

As seen in Revelation 1, 2, and 3, they are in the tabernacle of the seven messengers (seven stars), i.e. the lampstands who prepare the way for the Second Coming.

Q. What does he fight with?

He fights with the blood of Jesus and the word of testimony.

Q. What is the evidence of overcoming and being defeated?

As according to the promises in Deuteronomy 28 regarding those who break the covenant (lose in the war), everything will be taken away from them, and they will flee in seven ways. If one overcomes, he receives the twelve promised blessings, and inherits everything. He becomes New Spiritual Israel and creates God’s kingdom and priests of the twelve tribes. This is the evidence of victory and defeat.

In Romans 8, it says that ‘the subjected creation waits in eager expectation for the sons of God to be revealed, in hope that they will liberate them from what has subjected them. For this, the Spirit, as well as we, who are the firstfruits of the Spirit, wait eagerly, with groans that words cannot express, for the redemption of our bodies.’ By first overcoming, and then quickly completing the twelve tribes of the sons of God, the creation, which is held captive by evil, can be liberated from it (refer to Rv 17:14; 18:4). This is the work that leads to the redemption of our bodies.

As the promised pastor, that is, the one who overcomes, appears, God’s will in Revelation is fulfilled. Also, as stated in Revelation 2 and 3, God, Jesus, and heaven come down on him; the food that gives eternal life, that is, manna and the fruit of the tree of life, can be eaten. As he sits with Jesus on his throne, he receives the authority to judge (the white stone), and rules all nations with the iron scepter.

Therefore, believers must know the meaning of the New Testament (i.e. Revelation), and come to Shinchonji Church of Jesus where the one who overcomes is. Heaven, the food that gives eternal life, God, and Jesus are with him; only by coming here can believers eat this food and achieve their hope.

God is testifying this through his messenger for the believers at the churches (refer to Rv 22:16). Aware of this, we, Shinchonji, are praying without rest for the believers who are buried in darkness.

♥ The promised pastor of the New Testament

Jesus makes a promise with his believers, and the one who keeps it is chosen as the promised pastor (refer to Revelation 2, 3). Regarding the promise of the New Testament, who, when, where, with whom, what, and why was it made?

What was promised? Main reference: Revelation 2, 3

  1. Who: Jesus
  2. When: in 1980
  3. Where: at the foot of Cheonggye Mountain in Gwacheon, Korea
  4. With whom: the congregation members of the Tabernacle Temple
  5. What: to fight and overcome Satan’s Nicolaitans
  6. Why (he made the promise): to him give full authority and to appoint him to speak on his behalf, and thus testify the word of revelation and what he saw to the servants

Q. What did he promise?

If he fights against and overcomes Satan’s Nicolaitans that invaded the Tabernacle Temple he will be given the twelve blessings promised in Revelation 2 and 3.

Q. What are the blessings given to one who overcomes?

He is given the right to eat from the fruit of the tree of life in the paradise of God. He will not be hurt at all by the second death. He is given the crown of life. He is given the hidden manna and a white stone. He is given an iron scepter to rule all nations, and the morning star. He is dressed in white, and his name is written in the book of life. He becomes a pillar in God’s temple. The name of God and the name of the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, and Jesus’ new name are written on him. He is given the right to sit with Jesus on his throne.

Shincheonji Animation, The Promised Pastor

Shincheonji and Bible
"The Promised pastor"
in the Bible

  • The Promised Pastor in the Bible

What kind of pastor is the promised pastor?

There are four kinds of pastors in the Bible.

Of those that belong to God, there is a pastor of prophecy, a promised pastor, and a general pastor; and there is a false pastor who belongs to Satan.

The false pastor who belongs to Satan is the one set up by Satan in order to persecute and hinder God’s work and pastor.

These pastors can be seen in both the Old and the New Testament.

A pastor of prophecy is chosen by God to preach what God will fulfill in the future.

A general pastor is one set up by men to preach to the future generations (the world) what the Lord has fulfilled.

A promised pastor, given that he keeps the promises of God, is chosen and appointed as ruler and as the one who speaks on God’s behalf.

  • John 14:26
But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.

  • John 16:13-15
But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come.
He will bring glory to me by taking from what is mine and making it known to you.
All that belongs to the Father is mine. That is why I said the Spirit will take from what is mine and make it known to you.

Jesus is Preaching the Gospel of the Kingdom

Jesus is Proclaiming
the Good News
of the Kingdom

Matthew 4:23~25, 5:1~2

Jesus went throughout Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom, and healing every disease and sickness among the people.

News about him spread all over Syria, and people brought to him all who were ill with various diseases, those suffering severe pain, the demon-possessed, those having seizures, and the paralyzed; and he healed them. Large crowds from Galilee, the Decapolis, Jerusalem, Judea and the region across the Jordan followed him.

Now when Jesus saw the crowds, he went up on a mountainside and sat down. His disciples came to him, and he began to teach them. He said:

  • Matthew 10:2~4
These are the names of the twelve apostles: first, Simon (who is called Peter) and his brother Andrew; James son of Zebedee, and his brother John; Philip and Bartholomew; Thomas and Matthew the tax collector; James son of Alphaeus, and Thaddaeus; Simon the Zealot and Judas Iscariot, who betrayed him.

  • Mark 3:16~19
These are the twelve he appointed: Simon (to whom he gave the name Peter), James son of Zebedee and his brother John (to them he gave the name Boanerges, which means “sons of thunder”), Andrew, Philip, Bartholomew, Matthew, Thomas, James son of Alphaeus, Thaddaeus, Simon the Zealot and Judas Iscariot, who betrayed him.

  • Matthias Chosen to Replace Judas
Acts 1:25~26  to take over this apostolic ministry, which Judas left to go where he belongs.” Then they cast lots, and the lot fell to Matthias; so he was added to the eleven apostles.

♣ Why did Jesus appoint the twelve disciples?
The answer is Mark 3:14~15

Jesus Sends Out the Twelve Apostles

Mark 3:14~15
He appointed twelve that they might () be with him and that he might send them out to preach and to have authority to drive out demons.

Luke 22:28~30
You are those who have stood by me in my trials.  And I confer on you a kingdom, just as my Father conferred one on me,  so that you may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom and sit on thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel. ※ You = Twelve Desciples(Apostles)

Matthew 19:28
Jesus said to them, “Truly I tell you, at the renewal of all things, when the Son of Man sits on his glorious throne, you who have followed me will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.

The Bible Scene in which Jesus Calls His First Disciples

The Scene in which
Jesus Calls His First Disciples
in the Bible

Four Fishermen Called as Disciples by Jesus

  • Matthew 4:18~22
As Jesus was walking beside the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon called Peter and his brother Andrew. They were casting a net into the lake, for they were fishermen. “Come, follow me,” Jesus said, “and I will send you out to fish for people.”  At once they left their nets and followed him.   Going on from there, he saw two other brothers, James son of Zebedee and his brother John. They were in a boat with their father Zebedee, preparing their nets. Jesus called them, and immediately they left the boat and their father and followed him.

  • Mark 1:16~20
“Come, follow me, and I will send you out to fish for people.”
Jesus Said
As Jesus walked beside the Sea of Galilee, he saw Simon and his brother Andrew casting a net into the lake, for they were fishermen. “Come, follow me,” Jesus said, “and I will send you out to fish for people.”  At once they left their nets and followed him.   When he had gone a little farther, he saw James son of Zebedee and his brother John in a boat, preparing their nets. Without delay he called them, and they left their father Zebedee in the boat with the hired men and followed him.

  • Luke 5:1~11
One day as Jesus was standing by the Lake of Gennesaret, the people were crowding around him and listening to the word of God. He saw at the water’s edge two boats, left there by the fishermen, who were washing their nets. He got into one of the boats, the one belonging to Simon, and asked him to put out a little from shore. Then he sat down and taught the people from the boat.   When he had finished speaking, he said to Simon, “Put out into deep water, and let down the nets for a catch.”    Simon answered, “Master, we’ve worked hard all night and haven’t caught anything. But because you say so, I will let down the nets.”   When they had done so, they caught such a large number of fish that their nets began to break. So they signaled their partners in the other boat to come and help them, and they came and filled both boats so full that they began to sink.   When Simon Peter saw this, he fell at Jesus’ knees and said, “Go away from me, Lord; I am a sinful man!” For he and all his companions were astonished at the catch of fish they had taken, and so were James and John, the sons of Zebedee, Simon’s partners. Then Jesus said to Simon, “Don’t be afraid; from now on you will fish for people.”  So they pulled their boats up on shore, left everything and followed him.
