  • Revelation 2:8-11
8. "To the angel of the church in Smyrna write: These are the words of him who is the First and the Last, who died and came to life again.
9. I know your afflictions and your poverty- yet you are rich! I know the slander of those who say they are Jews and are not, but are a synagogue of Satan.
10. Do not be afraid of what you are about to suffer. I tell you, the devil will put some of you in prison to test you, and you will suffer persecution for ten days. Be faithful, even to the point of death, and I will give you the crown of life.
11. He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. He who overcomes will not be hurt at all by the second death.

This is a letter from Jesus, sent by his messenger John, to the messenger of the church in Smyrna.
John begins the letter saying it is the "solemn pronouncement of the one who is the first and this last, the one who was dead, but came to life,"(Rev 2:8).
This clearly identifies Jesus as the one sending the letter.

In Revelation 2:9, Jesus begins his letter by telling the messenger of church in Smyrna he is rich despite the messenger's feelings of distress, suffering, and poverty that have come with pursuing the work of God. Jesus also assures the messenger he is aware of the slander of those who call themselves Jews. As he does so, Jesus reveals something the messenger of the church in smyrna does not understand: those who call themselves Jews are actually a synagogue of Satan. Although Jesus seems to be referring to the physical chosen people of Israel, he is using the term "Jew" figuratively to refer to God's spiritual chosen people. These synagogue(people) of Satan who have disguised themselves as the chosen people at the time of Revelation's fulfillment, they are just the Nicolaitans.

The synagogue of Satan in Revelation 2:9 refers to the Nicolaitans who destroy the seven golden lampstands by disguising themselves as God's true people. They slander and disrupt the work of the seven messengers Jesus chose from the tabernacle of the seven golden lampstands. Just as Satan disguises himself as an angel of light, Satan's servants, the Nicolaitans, disguise themselves as servants of righteousness and as apostles of Christ(2Cor 11:14-15) while actually carrying out the work of Satan.

Jesus reveals the true identity of the Nicolaitans in Revelation 2:9, and warns the messenger he will suffer and be tested. Jesus asks the messenger to remain faithful even to the point of death. Jesus also promises the messenger he will receive the crown of life and will not be harmed by the second death if he fights and overcomes the Nicolaitans (Rev 2:10-11).

The crown of life and the second death are eteranl life and eternal punishment respectively. Receiving the crown of life is receiving everlasting(eternal) life. The second death refers to eternal punishment in hell, which a person's spirit can receive after the physical death of its body. As Jesus promised, the one who fights and overcomes the Nicolaitans(false pastor) will inherit everlasting life and will never be punished in hell.

These events of Revelation 2:8-11 including the delivery of the letters, have already taken place at the base of Cheonggye mountain, which is in the city of Gwancheon, Gyeonggi province, Republic of Korea.

The book of Revelation is as evidence for physical fulfillment.
The prophecies of Revelation that were sealed in parable physically fulfilled today.
