[Revelation 7]
The Background of the Sealed 12 Tribes
&
The Great Multitude Dressed in White
In chapter 7 of Revelation is about the beginning of recreation where the former heaven, the spiritual Israel that does not repent even after they commit acts of immorality with gentile spirits through Satan's pastor in Revelation 2 and 3, so they receive judgment in chpter 6 and both the heaven and the earth disappear. This creation is the work of sealing 12,000people in each of the 12 tribes, atotal of 144,000peopel, by hearvesting. Thus, chapter 7 is about the work of sealing after the event in chpater 6.
In Revelation 7:1, the four angels must delay the judgment by holding back the winds, which are elsewhere represented by horses. At that time, another angel comes up from the east - from where the sun rises - and says, "Do not damage the earth or the sea or the trees until we have put a seal on the foreheads of the servants of our God."
In this passage, the angel with the seal of the living God comes up from the east. Since the east is where the sun rises, it represents the location of the pastor who is like the light.
Since Ps 84:11 calls God our sun, the place God's work begins can be thought of as the place the sun rises. In the end times for the Christian world, the sun, moon, and stars darken and fall. Day becomes night. At that time, wherever the work of God(the light) begins is referred to as the east.
The east in Revelation 7 is the east from the viewpoint of heaven(Rev 4), and it is where the events of Revelation are fulfilled. Only apostle John, who was called up to the spiritual heaven, knows where the east is since he saw it from heaven.
At the time of Revelation's fulfillment, there are 144,000 people sealed with God's seal ㅡ12,000 each tribe (Revelation 7:5-8).
God promised that in setting up the new covenant he would write his laws in believers' hearts and minds(Jer 31:33, Heb 8:10).
When the angels finish sealing the foreheads of the 144,000, a great multitude dressed in white robes comes form every nation, tribe, people, and language.
God brings the first heaven and earth to an end by judging Spiritual Israel (Revelation 6).
Q) Why did they judge in Revelation 6?
- Because the chosen people in Revelation 2 and 3 do not repent and believe even though they received the letters that urged repentance, and a judgment comes upon them in chapter 6 of Revelation.
Because of judging his chosen people and bringing them to an end, God creators a new chosen people. He establishes New Spiritual Israel with the 144,000 who are sealed and with the great multitude dressed in white robes. God spreads his tabernacle over New Spiritual Israel and dwells among them forever(Revelation 7:15). At the time of Revelation's fulfillment, anyone who does not being to the twelve tribes of News Spiritual Israel, which are God's only chosen people, is a gentile who cannot be saved. Look in Revelation of the Bible, and find out!
There is, however, a significant difference between the 144,000 and those who belong to the great multitude in white. In Revelation 7:9, the worlds "after these things" provide a way to distinguish the different status of the 144,000 become the pastors (i.e., priests and kings) of News Spiritual Israel. The great multitude in white become its congregation members(i.e., its people). The order in which they are chosen by God is also different; the 144,000 are chosen first and the great multitude in white are chosen later.
The event of sealing described in Revelation 7 is being fulfilled today in Shincheonji, which is located in Gwacheon, South Korea.
